The finalists in the 2008 CiB awards have been announced. A full list of the finalists can be found on the awards page.

Huw Edwards, the BAFTA award-winning journalist, presenter and newsreader will present this year’s CiB Awards in Brighton on Friday 23 May 2008.

He will be joining Jonathan Trace on stage to present the class winner and gold winner awards and with 20 years’ experience in broadcasting he has a wealth of stories to keep people entertained.

Huw Edwards is known to millions of viewers as main presenter of the BBC’s flagship 10 O’Clock News. Over 20 years, he has presented a wide range of BBC programmes, including Newsnight, Panorama, and the 6 O’Clock News – and he has co-hosted two General Election programmes on Radio 4.

Huw spent over a decade reporting politics at Westminster, and he has also presented a range of programmes on classical music on BBC2, Radio 3, Radio 4 and S4C. He is an enthusiastic pianist and organist, and has enjoyed a long association with the renowned Cardiff Singer of the World competition on BBC2. He will host the final again at St David’s Hall next year.

For 2008 the CiB Awards are bigger than ever. One of the largest awards programmes of its type in Europe, the entry levels this year have been very high and the quality of submissions extremely good.

The awards take place at the end of the two-day CiB Conference in Brighton.
