Wanted: new Editor in Chief at BT
Published: Wed, 23 Apr 2008, 14:42

Former CiB chairman Ken Runicles is retiring in late summer from one of the plum jobs in corporate journalism - and has been asked to find his successor as BT's editor in chief before he leaves.

He is now actively recruiting via the following job ad

Ken, a CiB Fellow, who has won a dozen CiB awards - including Internal Communicator of the Year, a gold for editing and Editor of the Year - has transformed communications at BT over 18 years and offers a vibrant mix of print, web, audio and video channels which are the envy of other big companies.

His daily news website attracts a monthly seven million hits from BT employees around the world. The bi-monthly newspaper is mailed to 180,000 employees and pensioners in 170 countries. He even runs a multi-million pound employee benefits scheme.

Ken said: "We are looking for an editorial big-hitter for this substantial role. It's a dream job, working with a brilliant editorial team in an amazingly newsworthy company.

"I'd be thrilled if my successor emerged from the multi-talented ranks of CiB members."

Ken and his wife Diana - a CiB member who runs her own communications and PR company - are planning to spend their time between their seaside homes in Frinton, UK, and Denia, Spain. Ken also plans to resume active involvement in CiB.
