Job Brief
You’re a natural leader. You know how important communication is to business. And so will your team. Apply those qualities in this key role and before too long, you’ll be the talk of Nationwide.

About the role

Leading a team of Business Partners and Consultants, you’ll know just how to bring about an agency style approach the whole organisation can benefit from. And with 19,000 employees this is no small challenge. Your top priority will be to oversee relationships with our different divisions and ensure a consistent approach to employee communications. Working across our key business divisions of Sales & Marketing, Retail & Contact Centres, Non-Retail, Finance, Group Operations and Group Development, you’ll make the most of every opportunity to move about the business and build an understanding of their short and longer terms needs. Working closely with our Change & Planning team and with our Retail and Contact Centre divisions in particular, you’ll lead the overall communication strategy and have no problem keeping the whole of Nationwide informed about internal activity.

About you

If you can combine a strategic approach to communications with sound creative judgment and proven senior communications experience, you’ll be off to the perfect start. Integral to change management initiatives, you’ll understand best practice and be comfortable using the corporate planning tool. On top of that, you’ll be of degree calibre with the very best writing and editing standards. What’s more, we’ll expect you to be a great communicator – calm, clear and precise in every situation and at every level.

About us

There’s plenty to be excited about at Nationwide. For our customers, it might be that we’re the world’s biggest building society and the UK’s largest mutual organisation. For our people, it could be our impressive range of training initiatives and career opportunities, plus the supportive team culture that underpins our success. And for everyone associated with us, the stability of some 13 million members, 20 million accounts and 19,000 employees would be a great place to start.

About the rewards

Help keep your team running like clockwork and you won’t only enjoy loads of job satisfaction. As an ‘Investor in People’ we’re recognised for offering one of the best rewards packages around. And along with a contributory pension scheme, healthcare and a wide range of other benefits, you can also look forward to a great team spirit and excellent training. To apply, please visit www.nationwide-jobs.co.uk and search under ref. 116. Please enclose a covering letter and details of your salary expectations.
