What is CiB?

Whatever your responsibility – strategy planning and delivery, writing, design, online, print, measurement, brand management – and whether you work in-house, freelance or for an agency, the British Association of Communicators in Business (CiB) exists to support you.

We’re a place to share common concerns and best practice, we’re also a friendly association which emphasises building relationships between people within business communications.

Members come from a variety of backgrounds and over the years we’ve adapted our role to meet the changing needs of business communicators.

CiB members' companies include blue chips like Lloyds TSB, Esso, Barclays, Rolls-Royce, BT, AXA, Norwich Union and many more. Full information on every member is available to you on the members-only section of this web site once you join.

about CiB from
former National Chairman
Ken Runicles.

CiB was formed in 1949 as the British Association of Industrial Editors.

The association changed its name to the British Association of Communicators in Business in 1995, to reflect the wide range of disciplines demanded of its members today.

CiB is a non-profit making company, limited by guarantee. All proceeds from its activities are re-invested in the association.

Administration is carried out by a small team at head office led by the chief executive. The association is directed by a member-elected council, led by the national chairman, all of whom are volunteers.

CiB prides itself on producing high-quality, value-for-money events on both a national and regional basis. All the activity teams are made up of volunteers.
