How digital cameras work, their pitfalls and how to use them to take stunning editorial images. You will learn how to choose and use a digital camera and how to take better PR and editorial pictures. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn useful tips on how to get the best results.

Objectives

  • to learn how a digital camera works and how to get the best results
  • to understand terms like megapixels, JPEG, RGB and more.
  • to learn how to approach PR and editorial shoots and how to organise and pose individuals and groups, and
  • to use props to get better results. Imaginative approaches to subjects will also be covered.
  • to learn how post-processing with Adobe Photoshop or similar software can make a massive difference to the end result  
  • Outline

  • The workshop will be a mixture of theory and practice. Delegates will actually use their digital cameras to shoot simulated editorial assignments. The group will then review these and discuss the end results.

  • By the end of the day you should be able to use a digital camera with confidence and publish your results. Delegates will have the opportunity to see examples of results from a range of cameras.
