Central event: have you got what it takes?
Published: Wed, 07 May 2008, 12:34

What does it take to be an internal communicator? That’s the question which CiB Central will be exploring at its next dinner and discourse evening, to be held on June 19.

Having gone down a storm at our February seminar, Russell-Oliver Brooklands (ROB) has agreed to come back to the Midlands to talk about why he believes the traditional routes into internal communications – journalism and marketing – are no longer enough.

Provocative – and, at times, controversial – he’ll also be taking a look at why internal communications requires us to develop new skills with the English language and why it’s a surprisingly bad idea to set clear objectives for internal communications.

Drawing on his huge experience in behavioural linguistics, ROB will also explain why he thinks the new internal communications model can save time on the briefings and approvals process – and deliver better results.

The event kicks off at 6pm and will be held at New Edmunds in Brindleyplace, Birmingham. New Edmunds is the latest venture for Michelin-starred chef Andy Waters. The price for both dinner and discourse is £41.12 inc VAT (£35 + £6.12 VAT).
